Hi! This page tells you what we know about you and how we keep it safe.

What we know about you

  • Your first name.
  • Which key stage you are in.
  • The quizzes and lessons you do, and how you did.
  • What you write to the AI tutor, and any photos you send it.
  • If you tell us whether a lesson was easy to follow, what you chose and anything you wrote.

What we do with it

  • We use it to help you learn: to show your progress, pick your next lessons, and let the AI tutor answer your questions.
  • Your grown-up (the parent or carer who made your account) can see how you're getting on.

The AI tutor

  • The AI tutor is a computer program, not a real person. It can sometimes get things wrong, so check with a teacher or grown-up if something doesn't seem right.
  • When you ask it something, your message is sent to a company called Anthropic, which makes the AI. They work on it in America (placeholder: confirm with Anthropic in writing). It only uses your message to write the tutor's answer. Placeholder, to confirm with Anthropic in writing: they don't use your messages to teach their AI.
  • Don't tell the tutor your full name, your address, your school or your phone number. It doesn't need them to help you.

Keeping you safe

  • A safety helper checks what you write to the tutor.
  • If you write something that makes us worried you might not be safe, the tutor will ask you to talk to a grown-up you trust. We may tell your grown-up, or someone whose job is to keep children safe.
  • If something is worrying you, please tell a grown-up you trust. You can also call Childline free on 0800 1111, or visit childline.org.uk.

We never

  • sell your information;
  • show you adverts;
  • use cookies to see what you do while you learn;
  • let strangers see what you write.

How long we keep it

  • We delete your messages to the tutor after 6 months, and your photos after 30 days.
  • If your account is closed, we delete your information.
  • If nobody uses your account for 2 years, we email your grown-up, and then we close it.

You can ask us

  • to show you what we know about you;
  • to fix anything that's wrong;
  • to delete your information.

Ask your grown-up to email us at privacy@learnrove.co.uk, or email us yourself.

If you're not happy with how we look after your information, you can tell the ICO, which makes sure companies follow the rules: ico.org.uk.
